I am an Award-winning Chef based in Canada's beautiful national capital - Ottawa, Ontario. I’m a proud Mom of two amazing humans and also blessed to have the support of my Husband.
My family originates from Trinidad & Tobago and I was born in Winnipeg (ironic and awesome!). I completed Chef School at Algonquin College and also have a Chemical Engineering degree from UOttawa and spent most of my professional life in environmental engineering and management prior to becoming a Chef. I love the opportunity to blend my Caribbean Heritage and Canadian Nationality to create traditional and innovative flavours!
Several years ago, I left my environmental/engineering career and pursued professional training at Algonquin College to become a Chef - a second dream come true after Engineering. I integrate my heritage, my engineering background and culinary skills to innovate products and recipes. I am incredibly proud to have represented the High Commission for Trinidad & Tobago to win top honours for the Embassy Chef Challenge - Championship and People's Choice Awards.
I'm delighted to be part of Ottawa’s food scene, local economy and Caribbean culture. I double down on this also as the Co-Founder (with my Sister) of Afrotechture - a store and concept that we have created to help people shop and discover Canadian Artisans/Artisan Companies of African-Caribbean-Black descent. Check out our store at 55 Byward Market Square or online at www.afrotechture.com
I am only where I am to my great clients, supporters, collaborators and last but not at all least my team and my family! I have a depth of gratitude for your support!
I look forward to hearing from you!
